Repair or Replace is a free worksheet for US homeowners facing a real repair or replacement quote. It compares known out-of-pocket amounts, keeps up to three replacement proposals separate, and identifies the next missing question. It does not sell or rank contractors.

How the result is made

The calculation runs in your browser from the figures and answers you enter. State-average electricity data is attributed to the US Energy Information Administration; nearby heating and cooling climate normals come from NOAA. Neither source supplies an installed price or predicts savings for your particular home. Read the full methodology for formulas and limits.

What we do not do

We do not inspect equipment, verify a diagnosis, certify contractor work, or determine whether a home is safe. A reported hazard pauses the financial comparison. The site currently has no ads, lead sales, or contractor-paid placement. If advertising is added after approval, it will be labeled and kept apart from the decision controls.
